Charles Miner was the one of the first members of Congress to propose legislation to abolish slavery in the United States. Miner was from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and most of the information about him comes from a series of letters sent to his wife, and these letters give off a great understanding on the type of person he was in Congress.

Grant proposal for a startup of a non-profit organization in Wilkes-Barre. Our class worked with a woman named Shannon Doyne, who desired to form this particular organization. The organization hopes to help economically disadvantaged students have access to a place where they can learn and perform creative writing. Covers aspects such as staffing, sustainability, and how the organization will be evaluated.

I worked on this piece during my internship at the Institute for Public Policy and Economic Development in Wilkes-Barre. Many of my projects there where heavily research based and this is one such project. The purpose of this profile was to examine different aspects of Bradford County, which is located in northern Pennsylvania. Some areas looked at were demographics, economics, health, and education.
